This is the first of The Great Courses that I purchased. The instructor is reading from a computer screen - very quickly - and not looking at the camera. Indeed he is usually staring off into the opposite direction. I didn't find that anything was explained.
The material was read to me in a very hurried manner. I didn't like it. The Great Courses Plus were given to me as a Christmas gift. Unfortunately, it didn't. Each of these lectures, for me, at least, would be a complete course. Too much information for a 40 minute lecture. I won't finish the course. Professor Benjamin's enthusiastic style of presentation of a wide variety of topics, and clever surprise endings to his lectures, make this series a delightful taste of mathematical adventure.
This course more than met the expectations I had for it from the catalog description. Benjamin is an excellent instructor. His enthusiasm is infectious, his speech is cear and the cadence is just right. The visual aids are frequent and clear. I would have been ok if he had skipped one or two of the proofs, but overall the content is just what I hoped for.
If you are like me, someone who enjoyed math in high school and college, but did not have much chance to practice it in their career, then you will find this to be an excellent and entertaining review of the most important topics and concepts you learned many years ago.

It does contain a couple of questions at the end of each lecture, some to provoke thought and some with problems to solve, but there is no answer key.
