A few years back, you had to print out a hard copy of a document in order to sign it. Adobe Reader is the most popular PDF reader for Windows that enables you to edit a PDF file and sign it with a certified digital signature or handwritten signature. In the new window, select the drop down arrow to choose how you want to place your signature. Drawing your signature may not be as easy as typing your name or using your webcam to scan the signature. However, if you have a Windows PC with a touchscreen and stylus or Surface pen , you can sketch out your signature and sign the PDF document.
Some PDFs are forms you can fill out and then print or send. If a form requires a signature, you can add your signature to the PDF. To sign PDFs, you can capture your signature using your trackpad, the built-in camera on your Mac, or your iPhone or iPad. Create a signature using your trackpad: Click Trackpad, click the text as prompted, sign your name on the trackpad using your finger, press any key, then click Done. If your Mac has a Force Touch trackpad, you can press your finger more firmly on the trackpad to sign with a heavier, darker line. Hold your signature on white paper facing the camera so that your signature is level with the blue line in the window. When your signature appears in the window, click Done.
Simply drag and drop your PDF into the area above or click on the link to choose your file. The PDF will be displayed in our preview tool. To sign PDF online, click on the document, select a signature type, create your electronic signature, and add it to the document. Click DONE to save your changes. We guarantee the privacy of your documents and electronic signatures. All of your data will be automatically and permanently removed from our servers once your session expires.
There are many situations when you might want to type on a PDF, but Adobe created the file format to allow easy sharing across platforms rather than editing. However, with the release of Windows 10 and versions of Microsoft Word from onward, the process of editing a PDF and allowing typing became much simpler. You can also use Adobe Acrobat as a PDF filler and save files in a format that allows easy form-filling and editing. This gives you a few different options for allowing typing in a PDF. Once the process is complete — it could take a minute or so — you can type as you ordinarily would in any other Word document.
